Fox studio chiefs set to take on network

20th Century Fox Television co-bosses Dana Walden and Gary Newman are to be handed control of the Fox broadcast network, according to US reports.

The pair will succeed Kevin Reilly, and become the first executives to run both the network and production studio since Sandy Grushow a decade ago.

US reports say an official announcement could come today, though Fox had declined to comment and couldn’t be reached before press time this morning.

The move will likely see Walden and Newman reporting into Fox Networks Group CEO Peter Rice, who has been working with 21^st Century Fox COO and president Chase Carey on the restructure.

Walden and Newman currently report to Carey. They have lead the studio for 15 years, and now produce numerous scripted and unscripted series for cable and broadcast networks.

This comes after Reilly announced his departure from the network after seven years.
