MarVista sets Disney’s Pants on Fire

MarVista Entertainment is producing and distributing Pants on Fire, a new comedy movie for Disney XD.

The LA-based company is coproducing the show with Canadian counterpart Two 4 the Money Media. Production is underway on the TV movie, which will star Disney XD faces Bradley Steven Perry (Good Luck Charlie), Joshua Ballard (Diary of a Wimpy Kid) and Tyrel Jackson Williams (Lab Rats). It will debut later this year.

The movie will follow 15-year-old Jack Parker, who has a habit of lying, but sees his fabrications, which include friends, aliens and a girlfriend, come to life.

MarVista will sell the show internationally outside Canada, where it will be on Disney XD and Family Channel. In the US it will be on Disney XD.

Pants on Fire is the first collaboration between MarVista and Vancouver-based indieTwo 4 the Money Media for Disney XD and is part of a multi-picture development deal for the channel. MarVista and Two 4 the Money Media also co-produced Radio Rebel, a Disney Channel Original Movie.

“We received incredible global demand for Disney Channel movies Radio Rebel and16 Wishes, andwe are confident that in working with Disney XD, Pants on Fire will deliver a comedic movie for tweens and teens with a unique boy-attitude spin,” said MarVista boss Fernando Szew.
