ITV Player launches on Roku
British terrestrial broadcaster ITV has launched its ITV Player catch-up service on Roku streaming boxes in the UK.
Viewers now will be able to use the ITV Player channel to watch 30 day’s of catch-up content from ITV’s portfolio of channels – ITV, ITV2, ITV3, ITV4 and CITV.
“A key part of our strategy is to make our content accessible on multiple platforms and we are delighted to be working with Roku to bring our programmes to their devices,” said Martin Goswami, director of pay and distribution at ITV.
The ITV Player can be found in the UK Roku Channel Store on all current-generation Roku players, including the recently launched Roku Streaming Stick.
The news comes a week after BSkyB’s mobile service Sky Go added ITV’s channel line-up to its service for the first time.
In May, the BBC launched a BBC Sport app for Roku devices in the UK, offering sports news, highlights and live action ahead of this summer’s football World Cup, which kicks off this week.
