M6 extends CBS output deal
French broadcaster M6 has extended its multi-year output deal with CBS Studios International.
This comes after the LA Screenings last month where CBSSI launched scripted series such as Extant, Scorpion and NCIS: New Orleans to international buyers.
M6 bought its first show, NCIS, from CBS back in 2003, and this latest deal gives it exclusive rights to the Halle Berry-starring sci-fi summer series Extant, and season two of Under the Dome.
“M6 is one of our signature programming partners, which has helped us build very successful brands such as the NCIS franchise in this key international market,” said Armando Nuñez, president and CEO, CBS Global Distribution Group.
Extant is already one of the biggest sellers from the 2014-15 broadcast season, having gone to Atresmedia in Spain, Ten in Australia and Amazon in the UK.
