Fox poaches CBS, Funny or Die execs
FOX Broadcasting in the US has programming executives from rival CBS Television Studios and comedy video website Funny or Die.
Beth Miyares joins from CBS to become senior VP, drama development and programming at the 21st Century Fox-owned broadcaster and studio, while Conor Welch comes across from Funny or Die to become VP, comedy development and programming.
Miyares was CBS TV Studios’s VP, drama development, where she oversaw pilot development, and series transition for shows such as Elementary, Blue Bloods and Reign.
She previously worked at Fox as VP, current programming, working on shows such as Fringe, Prison Break and The O.C.
Welch was Funny or Die’s head of feature film, where he built the website’s film division, and prior to that was VP, development and production and film indie Red Hour, which had a first-look deal with the Fox studio.
Miyares will report into Terence Carter, Fox’s executive VP, drama development and programming, while Welch will report to Suzanna Makkos, executive VP, comedy development and programming.
