Talpa organises US formats pitching competition
The US division Talpa is soliciting format ideas for Talpa Pitchfest, a pitching competition that will be held in LA.
Formats producer and distributor Talpa organised the first Pitchfest last year and the second edition will run from September 22-26. It is open to new and existing production companies and individuals with new ideas for TV formats.
Interested parties have until June 20 to submit their idea.
The inaugural event attracted submissions from 60 creatives. The winners stand to get development deals with Talpa and four were linked with participants from last year’s event. The winners will also get to work with John de Mol (pictured).
“There are so many creative people both inside and outside the industry that have great ideas for television shows but feel they don’t have a way to have their idea heard,” the Talpa founder said. “Talpa Pitchfest could be the option these creative people have been looking for.”
Creatives can submit format ideas via a dedicated Pitchfest site.
