Telemundo and TVN to coproduce Paradise

Telemundo Internacional and Chilean broadcaster TVN are coproducing a new Spanish-language drama series Dueños del Paraíso (Owners of Paradise).

The scripted series will go out on the US Hispanic Telemundo network in the US and TVN in Chile with Telemundo Internacional taking charge of international distribution.

The deal was announced at this week’s LA Screenings and Marcos Santana, president of Telemundo Internacional said: “This coproduction will have a significant impact in the international markets, as both companies dedicate their best resources to this project.”

The drama will be filmed in New York, Miami and Chile and loosely follow real-life drug wars that took place in the late 1970s and 1980s.

Kate del Castillo (La Reina del Sur) will star and the series is written by Pablo Illanes (Dónde Está Elisa?).
