Tricon enjoys The Spoils of Babylon with new deals
Canada-based distributor Tricon Films & Television has shopped rights to its spoof miniseries The Spoils of Babylon (pictured) to CMore in Scandinavia and Studio Canal in France.
Electronic sell-through rights to the show, which is a spoof family drama starring Tobey Maguire, have been picked up by iTunes in Canada and the UK.
The 6x30mins show is on IFC in the US and Tricon sells it as part of its output deal with the cable net. It is produced by IFC Original Productions.
Tricon has also struck deals for several other IFC shows. Comedy series Maron has been acquired by Fox UK, the ABC in Australia and iTunes in Canada and the UK.
Sketch show The Birthday Boys, which is exec produced by Ben Stiller, has been bought by SBS in Australia and iTunes Canada.
