TV ratings start-up adds ex-TalkTalk, Endemol toppers
Former TalkTalk and MTG executive Laurence Miall-d’Août has been appointed CEO of London-based TVbeat, a start-up that provides big data and real-time television ratings, as a former Endemol exec becomes chairman.
Miall-d’Août will be joined at the analytics firm by former Endemol chief commercial officer and Disney executive VP Tom Toumazis, who has been named chairman of the board.
Miall-d’Août brings more than 18 years of corporate experience to the role, including twelve years in broadcasting.
She was recently director of TV at UK operator TalkTalk, where she led the company’s partnership with YouView and supported the launch of the telco’s IPTV service in 2012.
Prior to this she worked for 10 years at MTG in various roles – including latterly executive vice president of business diversification.
“Shifting viewing habits call for shifting TV analytics. By delivering advanced big data, real-time TV audience measurements, both linear and on demand, TVbeat aims to complement existing TV research. It’s good news for the industry, and I feel privileged to be at the forefront of a genuinely innovative and disruptive service,” said Miall-d’Août.
At the same time TVbeat has appointed Rod Petrovic, a former executive for media mobile advertising company Celtra, as chief technical officer.
