Banijay Group has closed an exclusive multi-year deal with ITV Studios Global Entertainment to rep the latter’s formats in Spain.
Banijay Spain, which formed after Banijay acquired DLO Producciones to sit alongside Spanish compatriot Cuarzo in its stable, will handle adaptation and production of ITVSGE formats. These include Come Dine With Me (left), Four Weddings, Hell’s Kitchen, Saturday Night Takeaway and Surprise Surprise.
Cuarzo’s Ana Rosa Quintana and drama specialist DLO’s José Manuel Lorenzo lead Banijay Spain and the ITVSGE deal represents its first international output agreement.
Lorenzo said today: “As a team we offer unparalleled experience in producing hit shows across a diversity of genres for the Spanish market, alongside our solid long-term relationships with the leading broadcasters in the region.
“There is hot demand amongst Spanish viewers for fresh new entertainment and drama and we’re looking forward to fully maximizing the potential of ITVS GE’s formats here over the coming years.”
Tobias de Graaff, director of global television distribution for ITVSGE, added: “ITV Studios Global Entertainment boasts an unparalleled slate of formats across a variety of genres, suitable for a range of slots and schedules. This deal with Banijay Spain will give Spanish viewers the opportunity to watch the formats that have already enjoyed huge success with audiences around the globe.”
