Endemol sells talent format to Middle East’s MBC

Pan-regional Middle Eastern broadcaster MBC has ordered a local version of Your Face Sounds Familiar, the celebrity singing talent format distributed by Endemol.

The deal, which is the first for the format in the region, paves the way for a weekly primetime version of the show to go out on MBC’s MBC4 and MBC Egypt channels.

Lara Haddad, managing director of Endemol Middle East said: “Celebrity talent formats are hugely popular in the region and we expect MBC’s audiences will love watching well-known faces delivering iconic musical performances each week.”

Your Face, which began life in Spain and has now sold into more than 30 territories.

Separately, Endemol said it has created a spin-off of the show Your Face Sounds Familiar Kids & Co. The new show has launched in Portugal and brings together celebrities who have competed in the main version as they mentor kids to become musical performers.
