FremantleMedia takes CNN’s Tom Hanks ‘60s doc

FremantleMedia has taken international rights to CNN factual series The Sixties.

The ten-part doc tells the story of the US through the 1960s including seminal moments such as assassination of JFK, the Cold War, the moon landing and emergence of the civil rights movement.

The series was executive produced by film star Tom Hanks. FremantleMedia will launch the show internationally at MIPDoc.

CNN is part of Turner Broadcasting, which has its own programme sales arm, but it appoints different distributors for its factual series.

Endemol recently picked up rights to Anthony Bourdain Parts Unknown and Morgan Spurlock Inside Man.
