BBC’s Musketeers swashbuckles into new territories
A raft of international broadcasters have acquired BBC drama swashbuckler Musketeers.
The show launched this year on BBC One in the UK and is distributed by the pubcaster’s commercial arm, BBC Worldwide.
It has shopped the ten-part series to German public broadcaster ARD and its Norwegian equivalent NRK. Swedish commercial broadcaster TV4 has also bought the series as has Ukraine’s 1+1, Greece’s OTE and NTV in Turkey.
The sales come as Worldwide prepares to make the drama series its main push at its Showcase sales event in Liverpool next week.
It will also launch Cold War drama The Game, crime thriller Happy Valley and Eddie Izzard one-off drama doc Castles in the Sky at the Showcase event and as well as offer buyers returning series including Da Vinci’s Demons and Orphan Black.
