Cineflix notches worldwide sales
Cineflix has sold factual and fct-ent titles to a raft of international broadcasters.
The independent distributor has shopped Impossible Pictures’ 6x60mins series World War II: The Last Heroes to Italian pubcaster RAI. Also in Italy Nat Geo has acquired two seasons of restaurant series The Opener.
In France pay TV channel Planète has picked up two seasons of Windfall Films’ Massive Moves, about huge house moving projects and in Canada Shaw has bought one of Cineflix’s key titles, Australian fact-ent series Border Security.
Other sales include NTV in Germany, which has bagged Back2Back Productions’ free diving two-parter The Man Who Doesn’t Breathe (pictured). The show was originally ordered by Discovery Western Europe.
All of the sales were of third-party content and Cineflix said it expects to pick up more rights in coming weeks.
“Third-party content now makes up around half of Cineflix Rights’ catalogue,” said Chris Bonney, CEO Rights, Cineflix Media. “Following our attendance at Realscreen, we anticipate announcing further deals with producers in the next few weeks.”
