Canada’s Bell opens regional production outposts
Canadian media giant Bell is opening new production offices in Vancouver and Winnipeg.
The new offices will sit alongside its current regional development office in Halifax.
The Vancouver production and development hub opens on February 17 and will be run by MIchele McMahon, while Winnipeg opens on March 3 with Brandice Vivier at the helm.
McMahon joins Bell from Canadian independent producer Omnifilm and Vivier from the National Screen Institute of Canada.
Both will report to Susan Makela, director, independent production, Canadian programming management, Bell Media.
Based in the offices of Bell-owned broadcaster CTV in Vancouver, the Canadian West Coast office will work with the production communities in B.C. and the territories. The other office will be within CTV Winnipeg and will be the point of contact for producers in Manitoba, Saskatchewan, and Alberta.
Bell owns free-to-air commercial broadcaster CTV as well as a host of specialty stations.
