DNA Films moves into TV with Fox

Movie producer DNA Films has launched a TV division in association with Fox.

UK-based DNA Films and the Fox Networks Group have joined forces to create DNA TV and the new company will create drama series, miniseries and comedies.

The shows will be aimed at the UK and international markets and Fox will have first-look on all projects, giving it the option to co-finance, coproduce and acquire DNA TV content.

On the film side DNA has produced titles including The Last King of Scotland, Notes on a Scandal and 28 Days Later.

The new producer has been set up as a UK-based indie and will be based in London.

DNA Films CEO Andrew Macdonald (pictured, below right) said: “We believe that by utilizing our relationships with British talent and broadcasters, we can produce great television drama that will resonate in the UK as well as with Fox’s audience in the US and around the globe.”

Peter Rice (pictured, top), chairman and CEO, FNG said: “Over the years the team at DNA has demonstrated a remarkable gift for developing strong, well-written material and managing productions with tremendous production values.”

He added: “This venture will give their talent access to a global audience from a creative base in London and will give our networks group the opportunity to work with them.”
