Ex-Rive Gauche boss to run Dick Clark Prods intn’l unit
Dick Clark Productions is launching an international wing, with former Rive Gauche Television president Mark Rafalowski drafted in as its boss.
Dick Clark Productions International will “focus on the creation and expansion of dcp’s international distribution network, as well as, the acquisition, financing and creation of new shows”, according to DCP.
Rafalowski, who ran LA-based Rive Gauche between 2003-09, has been named executive VP, DCPI. The role will see him take on responsibility for growing DCP’s international distribution and content development businesses. He will be based in at DCP’s Santa Monica headquarters and report to DCP president Mike Mahan.
“International distribution gives us the ability to develop and grow all areas of the television business from reality and scripted to formats and acquisitions. We look forward to building on our current relationships and actively growing the business internationally,” Rafalowski, who was DCP’s business development senior VP in the late 1990s.
DCP, which is best known as the producer of the Golden Globes, American Music Awards and Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest, launched a joint venture with Israel’s Keshet International last year. Guggenheim Partners bought DCP in the autumn of 2012.
