News brief: ABC goes for seventh Wipeout

US broadcaster ABC has commissioned a seventh season of Endemol obstacle course format Wipeout.

The new season will include a ‘Tournament of Champions’ event, bringing together previous season winners to compete for the first time.

Endemol USA is producing, with creator Matt Kunitz, plus Scott Larsen, Trice Barto, J. Rupert Thompson, and Kevin Wehrenberg executive producing.

Endemol-created and distributed Wipeout has sold around the world to territories such as the UK.
