ITVSGE prepares Israel’s Game of Chefs
ITV Studios Global Entertainment is launching an Israeli primetime cookery format.
Game of Chefs comes from ITVSGE and Reshet’s development joint venture The Lab. It follows three chefs as they compete to find Israel’s best amateur cooking talent.
The 20x60mins series comes from local Israeli prodco Constantine and is launching on January 19 ahead of the NATPE programming market in Miami. ITVSGE, ITV’s global sales arm, has distribution rights via terms of the Lab JV.
It is the second series to come out of The Lab after reality format reality format My Dream Wedding, which ITV Studios America produced for TLC in the US.
“Israel is very du jour at the moment so we’re very excited to have a format coming out of our joint venture,” ITV Studios’ director of international formats Mike Beale told TBI.
“Game of Chefs is a rich experience which can stand alongside any of the large-scale talent searches, as three award-winning chefs risk their hard-won reputations in an effort to find the next generation of culinary talent,” he added.
Erez Benharosh, VP of content, Reshet added: “We are immensely excited to see the launch of Game of Chefs, our newest reality format, developed within The Lab. We are proud to bring the next generation of cookery reality programming to viewers in Israel and anticipate introducing the format to territories worldwide.”
Endemol recently confirmed it was buying a 33% stake in Reshet, which is one of two leading commercial broadcasters in Israel along with rival Keshet.
