Shine raids the BBC for new creative director
UK-based prodco Shine TV has hired Tanya Shaw as creative director.
She joins from the BBC where she has been commissioning editor, Factual Features and Formats since 2012.
During her tenure at the UK pubcaster she ordered shows including Rick Stein’s India and Mary Berry Cooks.
Prior to the BBC, Shaw worked at Channel 4, where she was commissioning editor, Specialist Factual from 2008-2012 ordering series including Four Rooms.
At Shine she will report to Kelly Webb-Lamb, who held the creative director role prior to being elevated to managing director in Sept 2013.
Starting this spring, Shaw will oversee Shine’s current development slate. She will also be tasked with adding to the factual slate.
Webb-Lamb says: “Tanya is one of the most talented creatives in the industry, proven both as a programme-maker and a commissioner, with a great feel for popular factual and the kind of programmes we currently make, and want to make in the future here at Shine TV.”
