Passion ignites Firecracker deals
Passion Distribution has cut international deals for several shows from UK producer Firecracker Films.
Firecracker and Passion are both owned by Tinopolis, although some of the producer’s content, including My Big Fat Gypsy Wedding, is distributed by Zodiak Rights under the terms of a deal that predates Tinopolis’ acquisition of Firecracker.
However, going forward Passion will sell most Firecracker content and is already distributing titles including doc Men in Rubber Masks (aka Secrets of the Living Dolls). The one-off follows men who like to dress up in silicon female masks and body suits and meets the makers of these rubber suits.
Passion has shopped the show to RTL in the Netherlands, VMMA in Belgium, TVNZ in New Zealand, ABC in Australia and Discovery for several European territories. In the US cable net Logo has picked up the film, which originally went out on Channel 4 in the UK.
Passion has also shopped Firecracker’s one-off doc Diary of a Teenage Virgin to broadcasters including ABC2 in Australia, NRK in Norway, TVN Style in Poland and SBS Discovery in Denmark. It also debuted on Channel 4 in the UK.
