News brief: BBC hones its parenting skills

UK broadcaster the BBC has commissioned a six-drama based around a group of expectant couples.

In the Club will broadcast on BBC One next year. It will star Hermione Norris, Tara Fitzgerald, Jill Halfpenny, Katherine Parkinson and Will Mellor among others as members of seemingly straightforward antenatal group whose secrets and lies rise to the surface.

It comes from Fat Friends scribe Kay Mellor and Rollem Production is attached to produce. Yvonne Francas is producer.
