NATPE Miami announces raft of speakers
Numerous speakers have been announced for the NATPE Miami market, which takes place in late January.
Heading up the ‘Global Navigators’ conference strand are Televisa Internacional CEO Emilio Azcarraga Jean and Univision’s content chief Alberto Ciurana. ITV Studios’ formats boss Mike Beale and his counterpart at Warner Bros., Andrew Zein, will also speak in that strand as will Sony Pictures TV’s channels chief Andy Kaplan.
In the ‘Game Changers’ track speakers include Discovery’s senior VP of digital, Sean Atkins, and Electus’ digital boss Drew Buckley.
The ‘Storytellers Who Have Shaped Pop Culture’ strand will be headlined by a session with James L. Brooks (The Mary Tyler Moore Show and The Simpsons) session in conversation with Everybody Loves Raymond writer and producer Phil Rosenthal. Documentary maker Morgan Spurlock and Boardwalk Empire exec producer Terrence Winter will also feature.
NATPE said there has been double digit growth in advance registrations for its signature event, which takes place between January 27-29 at the Fontainebleau Hotel Resort in Miami Beach.
As of yesterday (December 10) there were 225 exhibitors signed up for NATPE, 34 of which are first timers. The organisation said there will be increased representation from the UK, France, Spain and Germany at the 2014 event.
“With this being my second year at NATPE, we’ve seen a lot of growth and development in key areas of our business that will continue to deliver on our mission to break down the traditional barriers within our industry, and create an environment where deals get done, across every platform,” said NATPE CEO Rod Perth.
