Polish satellite TV firm bolsters OTT service
Poland’s Cyfrowy Polsat is now letting its satellite TV subscribers access paid-for content from its online OTT service Ipla, after output improvements to its set-top boxes.
Previously Cyfrowy Polsat customers were only able to access free content from the operator’s online offering, but will now also be able to pay for access to IP-delivered movies from major Hollywood studios including Warner Bros and Universal.
This will allow customers to access films like The Great Gatsby, The Hangover 3 and Pacific Rim, with the company rolling out a promotion to offer selected titles for just ZL1 (US$0.30) each.
The new Ipla decoders will also let Cyfrowy Polsat subscribers tune into catch-up TV services and access content from channels such as Polsat, Polsat Play, Polsat Cafe, Polsat Sport, AXN, Disney Channel, Fox, MTV Poland, National Geographic and History.
Cyfrowy Polsat said that the new version of the Ipla application went live on all of Cyfrowy Polsat’s set-tops with access to the internet.
