No more Unnecessary Roughness for USA Network

USA Network has cancelled its drama series Unnecessary Roughness after three seasons.

The Sony Pictures Television-produced show, which starred Callie Thorne as a therapist to an American football team, ran for three seasons from 2011 but will not return for another.

“We are proud of this show and its writers, which had a unique ability to address topical subjects before they unfolded in real life on the sports pages,” said NBCuniversal Cable Entertainment-owned USA in a statement. “We want to thank Liz Kruger and Craig Shapiro, the incredible cast led by Golden Globe nominee Callie Thorne and our partners at Sony Television.”

SPT produced the show along with Universal Cable Productions and Still Married Productions.
