Wheel of Fortune to spin in Spain until 2017

Wheel of Fortune will continue to air on Antena 3 in Spain until at least 2017 after a new deal was struck for the evergreen gameshow.

Atresmedia, the parent group of free-to-air broadcaster Antena 3, and Wheel of Fortune distributor CBS Studios International agreed the deal for the local version of the show, known as La Ruleta de la Suerte.

The current season of the show has won an 18.3% share of viewers in Spain in a midday slot on Antena 3.

Paul Gilbert, senior VP, international formats, CBS Studios International said: “Wheel of Fortune plays an important role in Atresmedia Television’s daytime programming and we are thrilled to extend this deal until 2017.”
