Bear Grylls in Channel 4 ‘Lord of the Flies’ series

Bear Grylls will star in an upcoming Channel 4 survival series

Adventurer Bear Grylls will front a new factual entertainment series billed as “Lord of the Flies meets Darwin” in which 12 men are cast away on a remote deserted island.

The Island of Lost Blokes comes from Shine TV and Bear Grylls Ventures and was commissioned by Channel 4’s head of factual entertainment Liam Humphreys.

It will the male volunteers forced to live in extreme circumstances with no mod-cons and limited food and water.

Grylls, who has starred in numerous survival series for the likes of Channel 4 and Discovery, said: “This is Lord of the Flies meets Bear Grylls meets Darwin’s survival of the fittest.”

Tim Whitwell, head of programmes, Shine TV, added: “The Island of Lost Blokes aims to push the British bloke to the limit, and find out what they’re made of when the survival odds are stacked against them.”
