Sky Deutschland, HBO buy mafia series Gomorrah

Beta Film has confirmed a deal with HBO Nordic for its Italian crime series Gomorrah.

TBI first reported HBO had picked up the mafia drama, which is from Roberto Saviano, the journalist behind the book and feature of the same name.

Beta Film distributes Gomorrah the series and officially announced the HBO deal at MIPCOM where Saviano is in town promoting the show. HBO Latin America has also picked up the drama.

In western Europe Beta has struck a deal with Sky Deutschland and the German pay TV platform will show the twelve-part series.

Gomorrah is produced by Sky Italia, Cattleya, Fandango in association with La7 and Beta Film. Stefano Sollima, director of the Sky Italia cop series Romanzo Criminale, directed six episodes of Gomorrah and will also be at MIPCOM to promote the show.
