Silvergate Media hires Marsh to launch sales arm
Octonauts brand owner Silvergate Media has hired former Chorion and France Televisions exec Geraint Marsh to head a new distribution division.
Marsh is well known to Silvergate founder Lord Waheed Alli having worked under him at Chorion, which shed most of its brands as part of an assets sale in 2012.
The new distribution arm will sell all audiovisual and L&M rights to CBeebies series Octonauts and do the same for Nickelodeon series Peter Rabbit excluding North America and India on the international market, with Marsh leading it as senior VP, distribution and global products, Americas and France.
Marsh joins from France Télévisions Distribution, where he was executive VP, television and consumer products. Before that, he was Chorion’s senior VP, television sales.
Mary Durkan, CEO at Silvergate Media said: “Peter Rabbit and Octonauts continue to resonate with audiences worldwide and we are thrilled to take on the responsibility for their continued expansion into new territories. Geraint has a terrific track record in international sales and he will be a great asset to our growing team as we continue to forge relationships in key global markets.”
