HBO entertainment president stepping down

Sue Naegle is stepping down from her role as HBO’s president of entertainment and reportedly plans to launch her own production outfit.

Naegle has been with the premium pay TV channels operator for five years and bows out celebrating 27 Emmy wins on Saturday night.

According to US reports, Naegle will launch her own prodco and get a first-look deal with HBO, though the Turner Broadcasting-owned network was not commenting last night.

She is credited with bringing shows such as comedy Veep, critically acclaimed Girls and smash hit Game of Thrones to the network.

Naegle was formerly a partner at United Talent Agency.
