News brief: Shine’s Kudos preps series based on Sathnam Sanghera novel

UK-based drama producer Kudos has optioned Marriage Material and will develop the Sathnam Sanghera novel into a TV series.

Sanghera is an award winning writer and journalist and Marriage Material is his latest book. Kudos, which scored a major success this year with ITV drama Broadchurch, has co-optioned the book with Parti Productions.

The novel centres on the return of Arjan Banga to his family home in the West Midlands in the UK, following the unexpected death of his father.
