News brief: Syfy buys werewolf series Bitten

NBCU-owned cable net Syfy has acquired Canadian produced werewolf series Bitten. The Entertainment One distributed thirteen part series will debut on Syfy next year.

The series is based on the New York Times best-selling Women of the Otherworld novels by Kelley Armstrong and stars Laura Vandervoort (Smallville) as Elena Michaels, the lone female werewolf in existence.

Bitten is made by No Equal Entertainment, Hoodwink Entertainment, and eOne in association with Bell Media. In Canada it will go out on Bell’s Space channel.
