Electus poaches Henson for unscripted role
Ben Silverman’s multimedia studio Electus has hired ABC Entertainment alternative entertainment exec Corie Henson to become executive VP, unscripted television.
Henson previously oversaw production of ABC unscripted series such as Dancing With the Stars, Shark Tank and Extreme Makeover, but has now taken the new role with US-based Electus.
Beginning this month, she will oversee Electus’s unscripted slate, which currently includes Get Out Alive with Bear Grylls for NBC, Dog and Beth for CMT, Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson-fronted reality series The Hero for TNT, upcoming NBC show Food Fighters, which Adam Richman will present.
She will report to Electus CEO Chris Grant, who said: “”Corie is that rare executive who blends creative talent, managerial prowess and sales experience with deep experience in the world of physical production,” said Grant. “Her contributions and perspective will be vital to Electus as we continue to build upon our slate of unscripted programming.”
“As a producer, and more recently a buyer, I’m thrilled to be joining a team where I can learn and grow with one of the most creative and prolific sales teams in the business,” added Henson, who has also worked on shows such as CBS’ Big Brother, Fox’s On Air with Ryan Seacrest and TLC’s The Secret Life of a Soccer Mom.
