Matthieu Porte’s Can’t Stop inks trio of Ukraine deals
Ukrainian free-to-air broadcaster ICTV has ordered local versions of German-originated scripted reality formats Customs Investigators and Special Forces (pictured).
The series were created by German producer Blueprint Entertainment and air on RTL2 in Germany.
The shows are distributed by Can’t Stop Media, the formats business created by former Zodiak executive Matthieu Porte.
Can’t Stop and ICTV have also agreed a deal for a pilot of another Blueprint show, Faster than the Police Allow, which goes out on Vox in Germany.
Damien Porte oversees sales to Ukraine and the wider region and said this ICTV deal will pave the way for more local versions of Blueprint’s formats.
“We knew the German production know-how in scripted reality would travel well in the region,” he said. “Ultimately, Ukraine, an early adopter of global formats, was the first country to come on-board. Now we’ll be looking to extend partnership with broadcasters in Russia and other CIS countries.”
