TG4 buys Java docs
Irish broadcaster TG4 has acquired an 11-title package from French documentary specialist Java Films.
The licensing agreement begins in September and hands TG4 docs including the 1x52mins Raising Resistance from Dreamer Joint Ventures. The programme follows Latin American farmers’ struggle against the expanding production of genetically modified soy in South America. It was directed by Bettina Borgfield and David Bernet and has previously broadcast on Al Jazeera International and Arte.
Other titles include The Stolen: Spain’s Missing Babies from Marmita Films and Veo Productions; The Battle for the Amazon from Yemaya Productions; Greece: Point of No Return, also from Dreamer Joint Ventures; and seven episodes of the Tony Comiti-produced Deadliest Journeys.
France-based Java has also sold Specific Films’ Finding Mercy to Australian pubcaster ABC for its current affairs slot.
