News brief: Disney promotes Nancy Kanter

The Walt Disney Company has promoted Nancy Kanter to the role of executive VP, original programming and general manager, Disney Junior Worldwide.

Kanter has been with the Mouse House since 2001, during which time she has overseen the rebrand of Playhouse Disney to Disney Junior. She is currently senior VP, original programming and GM.

“Nancy’s vision for Disney Junior has transformed it into a creative powerhouse for our youngest viewers and their parents, adding content that has captivated millions of new viewers – and simultaneously creating vibrant new opportunities for every other line of business at the Walt Disney Company,” said Disney Channels Worldwide president and chief creative officer Gary Marsh.
