US cable network Bravo is piloting a new scripted series based on a best-selling self help book about divorce.
The Girlfriends’ Guide to Divorce will be based on the eponymous book series from writer, model and lawyer Vicky Iovine.
It will tell the story of a famous author of a best-selling self-help book series who is hiding the fact that she’s separated from her husband as she starts to navigate her life as a single woman in her early 40s in Los Angeles.
NBCU-owned Bravo has committed to a pilot, which will be produced by Universal Cable Productions with Marti Noxon who penned the pilot.
Iovine is among the exec producers as is the Weinstein Company’s Meryl Poster although TWC does not have a production credit.
“The funny, frank and fabulous tone of Vicki’s books provide a perfect jumping off place for the show,” said Noxon. “I love Bravo and look forward to creating a great ‘second marriage’ with them!”
