Yesterday to investigate Forbidden History

UK digital channel Yesterday has commissioned a new series in which broadcaster Jamie Theakston will attempt to uncover the truth around great historical mysteries.

TheakstonThe 6x60mins Forbidden History will launch in Q3 of this year after being ordered by yesterday general manager Adrian Wills.

It will see former children’s TV presenter Theakston investigate mysteries such as whether Jesus and May Magdalene married and had children, and whether giants once walked the earth.

Jamie Theakston is a great addition to the channel and Forbidden History fits perfectly into Yesterday’s remit of ‘entertainment inspired by history’. The series will appeal to the channels’ viewers as they really enjoy historical thrillers and fascinating stories, as the success of Raiders of the Lost Past earlier this year has shown.”

Like A Shot Productions will create the series along with Yesterday. LASP’s managing director Henry Scott said: “It has been great to be able to work with UKTV to create this fantastic contemporary history series. We enjoyed making it and all believe the series concept will have on-going appeal for both the Yesterday viewers and in subsequent International markets.”
