Shine America poaches legal boss from NBCU
Shine America’s expansion has continued with the hire of Jeffrey Schneider who has taken the newly created position of executive VP, business and legal affairs and general counsel at the News Corp-owned company.
Schneider has joined the US division of Shine Group from NBCUniversal where he was executive VP, business affairs, entertainment and digital networks.
At Shine America he will run the business affairs and legal department and be the company’s chief legal representative.
He will be based in LA and report to Rich Ross, who joined Shine as CEO late last year.
He said: “Jeff’s tremendous professional experience within our industry makes him the ideal executive to lead our business affairs team as we continue to aggressively expand our footprint in both scripted and unscripted television programming.”
Schneider added: “With so much change occurring across the television and digital landscapes, I had really been hoping to find a place where I could expand upon and go beyond my network and studio experience. This is the perfect time to be joining Rich and his team.”
Prior to his stint at NBCU, Schneider was senior VP of business affairs and deputy general counsel for US cable net Lifetime. That came after a fifteen-year stint at Fox Television Studios.
