P. Diddy’s Revolt channel gets Time Warner carriage
Revolt, the upcoming channel fronted by hip hop star Sean ‘P Diddy’ Combs, has secure a carriage deal with Time Warner Cable.
The US cable net will launch this autumn with a schedule of music videos, news, interviews and live events.
With the TWC deal in hand, Revolt’s backers have boldly claimed that it will be “one of the largest launches in cable TV history when it goes live”.
It has already secured carriage on Comcast’s cable service.
P Diddy said the carriage deal “positions Revolt to come out of the gate strong”. He added: “This is a landmark distribution deal that demonstrates Time Warner Cable’s commitment to bringing a platform for music artists and fans to their subscribers.”
The music star has said the channel will go some to filling the void created when MTV moved away from a music video-centric line-up to more general entertainment-oriented programming.
