Endemol UK promotes Remarkable boss to creative role

Endemol’s UK business has promoted David Flynn to become its chief creative officer.

Currently Endemol-owned Remarkable Television’s joint managing director and co-chair of its UK Digital Board, will now oversee creativity across the Endemol UK group.

As a result, Endemol UK’s controller, entertainment and formats, Nick Mather has taken Flynn’s role at Remarkable, where he will work alongside co-managing director Colette Foster.

Flynn is credited with creating and executive producing The Million Pound Drop Live (aka The Million Dollar Drop), which was recently named Europe’s most valuable format in 2012, earning broadcasters a cool US$213.4 million. He also co-created BBC daytime gameshow format Pointless, which recently broadcast its 500th episode in the UK.

Both he and Mather, who is a former BBC formats executive and another co-creator of Pointless, take up their new roles with immediate effect.

“David has developed and produced some of the most successful entertainment formats to come out of the UK. He and Nick represent the very best in the business and their appointment to these key roles keeps creativity at the heart of everything we do,” said Endemol UK CEO Lucas Church.
