blinkbox snaps up new Game of Thrones

UK online video store blinkbox has become the first digital platform to secure rights to season three of HBO fantasy drama Game of Thrones.

The series joins other HBO shows such as True Blood, Band of Brothers and The Sopranos available without a subscription via the blinkbox service.

Game of Thrones runs on UK pay TV on Sky Atlantic.

Yesterday, blinkbox owner Tesco Digital Entertainment promoted the online movie and TV site’s founder Michael Comish to group digital officer for the Tesco Group.
