Free and pay TV group MTG has implemented several senior changes management changes that include the departure of its Nordic TV boss.
Jette Nygaard-Andersen has been upped to executive VP, Nordic pay TV broadcasting, overseeing the pay operations in the region.
Nygaard-Andersen replaces Anna Settman who is leaving MTG for unspecified reason. She was only announced as executive VP, Nordic pay TV last October and started earlier this year, having been poached from Aftonbladet, Sweden’s largest newspaper.
Nygaard-Andersen has worked for MTG since 2003 and has been CEO of Viasat Denmark since 2011 and MTG is now looking for a replacement following her promotion. She was acting CEO of the group’s Nordic pay TV operations between October 2012 and March 2013. In turn, she has appointed Jonas Karlén to the new role of COO of that division. He has previously CEO of Viasat Sweden, a role he has been in since 2011.
The Scandi-focused company has also appointed Peter Nørrelund as head of sport, overseeing sport production, broadcasting and channels operations. He has worked for MTG since 2003 and has been CEO of the group’s Danish sports operations, as well as responsible for the negotiation of the majority of the group´s sports rights acquisitions. All of the country heads of sport will report to Nørrelund.
Jørgen Madsen Lindemann, president and CEO of MTG, said: “We are structuring the organisation to ensure that we can fully leverage the investments that we are making in our content, platforms, channels and services. We have never had such a strong offering and this will only get stronger during the year as we build towards our Olympics coverage in early 2014.”
