Ex-Lionsgate exec takes roles at Tandem, StudioCanal
Former Lionsgate exec Tim Stuart has landed a new role as director of TV and digital sales for StudioCanal’s Australia and New Zealand division and Tandem Communications’ Asia Pacific operation.
Stuart will work on both companies’ sales and development businesses throughout the Pacific Rim for StudioCanal’s feature library and Germany-based Tandem’s TV catalogue, which comprises drama programmes and event-style miniseries such as The Pillars of the Earth.
France-based StudioCanal took a majority stake in Tandem in January 2012.
“The digital entertainment world has opened a wide number of windows and platforms, and Tim has the right brand of experience to manage these challenges and I am delighted he has joined our team,” said StudioCanal Australia/NZ CEO Robert Slaviero.
“Tandem is very happy to see Tim in this vital position in the ever- growing and evolving world of TV and digital platforms,” added Rola Bauer, president and partner, Tandem Communications. “His vast experience in the region will ensure he’ll hit the ground running and be a valuable asset to Tandem’s global distribution and coproduction strategy.”
Stuart exited his role as Lionsgate’s VP, Asia Pacific sales, last June after the north American-based mini-major consolidated its Asian distribution business and later joined Southern Cross Austereo as executive VP, distribution.
His previous roles include director, Asia Pacific at CBS Paramount and head of television at Becker/Dendy.
He begins his new role immediately.
