News brief: Veep returns for third run on HBO

US premium cable channel HBO has ordered a third season of its politics-themed scripted comedy Veep.
The new 10-part season will launch in 2014, again starring Julia Louis-Dreyfus (Seinfeld) as hapless US Vice President Selina Meyer. The second season launched last month.
Veep was inspeired by BBC political comedy The Thick of It, which has run for four seasons and spawned a feature film. Writer and comic Armando Iannucci is behind both shows.
