Brightlight hires Hovan, Suelzle

Canadian production company Brightlight Pictures has appointed a new COO and a VP for finance, news that comes after the departure of co-founder Stephen Hegyes last year.

David Hovan has become COO, while Alexander Suelzle has taken on the role of VP, finance.

In November last year, film and TV producer Brightlight said goodbye to co-founder Hegyes, who left to launch his own company.  His fellow principal Shawn Williamson remained on as chairman.

Brightlight also recently lost executive VP, legal affairs and finance Karyn Edwards, who is also launching her own venture.

Brightlight’s recent productions include Mr. Hockey: The Gordie Howe Story for CBC and Hallmark Channel, which went out in Canada on April 28.
