Teletoon swings in for George of the Jungle
Canadian children’s broadcaster Teletoon has commissioned another season ofGeorge of the Jungle, the most recent remake of the classic animated comedy.
Singapore’s August Media Holdings and Canadian prodco Chocolate Moose Media are working on the second season, which has got the greenlight six years after the remake’s first run. George will deliver in 2014.
August’s sales arm, August Rights, and DreamWorks Classics are distributing the season and have already secured deals with Nickelodeon in Germany and Northern Europe and TVE in Spain.
George of the Jungle was created by animator Jay Ward in 1967.
The new animated series follows the adventures of George, a warm hearted but clumsy ‘King of the Jungle’, and his animal friends.
“George is a legendary character with a rich comedic history and this all-new season will be a
great fit for our line-up of side-splitting comedy series for kids,” said Teletoon’s director of original content Alan Gregg.
