Talpa USA raids Endemol and Mark Burnett for senior staff

Talpa hired several new staff, poaching executives from Endemol and Mark Burnett’s One Three Media.

The US arm of John de Mol’s company is staffing up embarking on a major push into the US market off the back of after winning several programme orders.

Monica Stock joins as VP of production having worked on 13 seasons of The Bachelor and three of MasterChef, while Ira Chartoff becomes CFO and joins after more than a decade at Endemol USA.

Sadoux Kim joins Talpa as senior VP of business development and digital. He was previously senior VP of marketing and branded media at Mark Burnett’s One Three Media and an executive producer on NBC’s The Celebrity Apprentice.

Leslie Garvin is the final new addition to the Talpa USA team joining as an executive producer. She has worked on numerous unscripted series in the US including Secret Millionaire and Shark Tank.

“The company and its production and development slate is growing fast and we want to ensure that we can deliver the highest quality possible to our partners and the American audience,” said Talpa Media USA’s CEO Simon Jones.

“We have found a group of highly motivated senior executives that combine a huge amount of experience with the hunger to deliver hit shows.”

The quartet of hires comes following a raft of deals for Talpa USA. It has recently won an order for musical gameshow The Winner Is from broadcast network NBC and a Spanish-language version of its biggest format, The Voice, for NBC-owned US Hispanic net Telemundo.

Talpa Media USA’s chief creative officer Stijn Bakkers said: “We are currently talking to networks and cable channels about formats that are recently developed by John de Mol and we can’t wait to reveal more about some of them in the coming weeks.”
