M6 buys Your Face Sounds Familiar

Broadcaster M6 is taking Endemol format Your Face Sounds Familiar into France. A primetime version of the programme will launch later this year, with Endemol France attached to produce.

The channel has commissioned the latest run of the Endemol Spain-created format, which has been sold into 19 territories in total. Last week, Russian network Channel One ordered its own version.

The show sees well known personalities taking on the identities of random music icons, who could be much older or younger than the celebrity, or even a different sex.

“Your Face Sounds Familiar is a brilliantly comedic format, with celebrities delivering iconic performances each week and we very much look forward to the show’s French debut later this year,” said Endemol France president Nicolas Coppermann.

Endemol said further deals in “major markets” would be unveiled shortly.
