Sky orders UK version of My Kitchen Rules

Sky Living has commissioned a local version of Australian cooking format My Kitchen Rules.

British TV chef Lorraine Pascale (Baking Made Easy) will host the show in which amateur cooks compete to make the best dishes.

The series has been a big hit for Australian free-to-air broadcaster Seven Network.

The Australian version is produced by Seven and the UK version will be made by FremantleMedia-owned production company Boundless.

Female-skewing pay TV channel Sky Living has ordered a 10x60mins series. It has also taken the original Australian version.

In related news, BSkyB general entertainment channel Sky 1 has put an end to its action adventure series Sinbad, which comes from Impossible Pictures, after just one season.

A statement read: “As a broad, family entertainment channel, Sinbad was the perfect drama to showcase Sky 1’s ambitions for long-running, blockbuster series. We were thrilled with the cast and the production team Impossible, however, we feel that Sinbad’s story has now been told. We’re in development on a number of exciting new projects and look forward to sharing more news with our customers very soon.”
